MENA Newswire News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a high-profile roundtable with leading tech CEOs in New York, marking a pivotal moment in the burgeoning relationship between India and the global technology sector. The meeting, held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), brought together executives from major technology companies, including Google, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm, to discuss ways to enhance partnerships and expand India’s presence in the tech industry.

During the meeting, Narendra Modi emphasized India’s rising status as a global technology hub, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and semiconductor manufacturing. The Prime Minister stressed India’s potential not only as a consumer of technology but as a producer of world-class tech innovations. This roundtable is part of a broader effort to foster greater collaboration between India and the U.S. tech sector, focusing on investments and innovation.

Key participants included Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, who highlighted the immense opportunities in India’s digital economy, and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who emphasized the transformative power of AI and noted India’s ability to harness these technologies for economic growth. Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm, praised India’s strategic initiatives to bolster semiconductor manufacturing, a sector critical to the global tech ecosystem.

Modi’s government has launched several initiatives to reduce dependency on imported semiconductors and establish India as a hub for chip manufacturing, with plans for fabrication units and research facilities. This strategy aligns with India’s ambition to become a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain. Modi’s visit to New York and his engagement with leading U.S. tech firms are part of a larger mission to elevate India’s digital infrastructure on the world stage.

As the fifth-largest economy, India continues to attract interest from international tech firms, positioning itself as a destination for innovation and talent. Industry experts believe that the collaboration between Indian policymakers and global tech leaders will help accelerate India’s progress in AI, automation, and sustainable technologies, further advancing its goal of becoming a global technology powerhouse.
